CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. We have designed our program to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialised program but a deliberate attempt to optimise physical competence in each of ten recognised fitness domains. They are Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

Is CrossFit For Me?

Do you want to feel amazing? Look awesome all year round? Regain control of your sleep? Eat well and enjoy your social life? Be more flexible? Increase your fitness levels? And, finally lose that dreaded body fat? Well, yes, CrossFit is for you, your friends, your better halves, your parents, and everyone else you know. CrossFit allows the first-timer to complete an identical workout (WOD) to an elite athlete. We do this by scaling (Rx) our workouts to your ability, mobility and experience. You will learn, re-learn and perfect movements you perform unconsciously everyday enabling you to lead a happier, more effective lifestyle.

Our Programs

Our Foundation sessions have been specifically designed to teach you the 9 fundamental movements of CrossFit. Not only that you are introduced to the methodology of the program, learn to understand what CrossFit is and taste the feeling of what a WOD actually feels like. At CrossFit Buxton you are required to complete a minimum of 6 Foundation classes to ensure your technique is safe and efficient to take part in our main CrossFit workouts.

Olympic lifts play a vital role in development during the CrossFit programme. The movements that are taught in these classes reflect actions we may perform in everyday life and they serve as the next stage in functional movement, progressing on to further specialised coaching in strength and conditioning. Adam is a member of the British Weightlifting Association and qualified to teach olympic lifts. At CrossFit Buxton we teach these techniques in small groups to emphasise the importance of technique and safety for every lifter. Olympic lifting is comprised of the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch, these movements in turn develop all over body strength, flexibility, power and speed and require regular practice.

At CrossFit Buxton we also offer one to one CrossFit sessions. So if you are wanting to work specifically on your personal weaknesses or struggling to master certain movements then these sessions are a great way of speeding up your progress to regionals..... You just never know.
